I am curious as to whether a society of sorts exists for this kind of thing. I do not mean to be condescending nor do I aim to join such a commune. I’m just curious. I am a believer in being one with the universe too, and believe math and science play as much role as does philosophy or the coined “spirituality”. I do not go by labels as it finally boils down to the aesthetic nature of one’s thought.

Whether this is true or not don’t wait until the 17th to begin ‘manifesting’ more love in the world. Start now and train the focus of your attention to loving thoughts so that by the 17th you will already be in the flow. Everything in your life, yes everything, including the bad stuff is there because you gave it life in your thoughts.
A good way to practice loving thoughts is to think of someone you love, an animal you love, a place you love, anything you love, and notice how that feels, how the world looks as you hold these loving thoughts, the words and sounds you hear outside and inside your head, any smells or tastes linked to this love. Then apply all these things to yourself and give yourself the power of your love. From a self loving place its easy to send out love to the world.
Start this now, good things will begin to happen well before the 17th. By then you will be sending loving thoughts as a ‘default’ and can have put some time into deciding what you really want to show up in your life.
Remember that love is in a smile. Smile at yourself smile for everyone, if you catch yourself frowning, change it to a smile. :¬)

Nah, that’s not a rough response to people wanting love and oneness. It is a rough response to Mission 1017 about getting so many of the cult members into space for spreading “love and oneness”.
The message of spreading love and oneness is a positive one, but if you know anything about cults, it usually is a positive message they are trying to send. The problem with all cults is that they prey on the simple minded, the weak, or basically people who need to feel like they belong no matter how off the wall it is.
These people need someone strong to point them in the right direction. A direction that does not involve flying into outer space to live a happier life. They can be just as happy and spread just as much of a positive thing right here on earth without some homosexual leader telling them what to do, and using the same website to look for a date. That is not a crack and homo’s, it is a shot at a leader who is so focused on his cause that he feels the need to use the weak visiting his site as dates. He is using you people, and if you cannot see that, then I hate to tell you, you are amongst the weak minded individuals I am referring to.

Actualy dear Sly, exactly the same things could be said about President Bush and his happy cohort. Perhaps you need to look through what Seth is saying, past your own fear of loosing control. find love within yourself and act from your own divine inspiration. I get the message, I get that people hate Bush (I do too), I also get that this is a cult. Change my mind.
That is a very simple request, especially since you folks seem to strongly believe anything Seth is saying.
I have dealt with people like this before, my brother got mixed up in one of these and is now broke at the age of 35. I have a friend who has a relative in this, and I was asked to come here to help the relative better understand what they were getting themselves into.
So instead of argueing about this being a cult all day long, when it is obvious you folks are to close minded to realize that it may be true, let’s do this YOUR way.
Simply tell me what this is about, here are a few simple questions to help you explain it to me;
1. What is the goal of these missions? Basically, what do you hope to ultimately accomplish?
2. Explain how travelling to outer space ties into this goal?
3. What do you need to do in order to accomplish these goals?
4. Support all three of the above questions with the information that has lead you to believe they are true.
That is all I want, an explanation. I have people who are very worried about their family members who are serious about this, and I am trying to look out for their better interests. Without understanding this group any better, then all I can do is drop judgement based on past experiences with very similar types of groups.
The problem is, I have yet to get an answer to those questions from any group that has been later classified as cults. The lack of explanation is a key trait of a cult, the high amount of followers behind one leader who has alternative goals is a second trait that has been common to all of these. The list goes on, but all I have seen so far is the typical cult characteristics. Someone, anyone, help me see what this is all about so I can give someone a serious answer about if their family member is in anyway jeopardizing their life or their financial situation.
This isn’t a chance for me to attack what I consider a cult, this is a chance to help someone to not make mistakes that I have seen others make in the past.
Dear Sly, I’m very sorry to hear about your brother. Yes there are those who come in the name of love whose real agenda is too harm you. There is a good saying, ‘if you meet Bhudda on the road, kill him’ meaning that anyone who claims to show you the path to enlightenment will ultimately come to do you harm. Why? Because all you need to find ‘the truth’ you already possess. You don’t need to pay anyone to be a guru. All the information anyone needs to experience the most profound enlightenment is free and readily available. We have lost our ability to discern truth because we trust authority figures to tell us. My concern for you is that you don’t close off access too your own heart. I argue that all groups religious, political, scientific, social, however well intentioned the begin, serve their own constituancy and rob you of the ability to think for yourself and have your own spiritual experience. I might say that there are some in the so called New Age community that doubt Seth’s message however I don’t see it as a problem to spend a day thinking positive thoughts. It is not going to cost anything,
It’s to change humanity, and spread the word around. There’s nothing wrong to think of positive things in life that you would like to accomplish.
After all it is true that what you perceive makes your reality.
It’s your choice to what you want to believe in. There’s nothing that’s saying that they’re forcing you to believe in it. So what would this matter if this October 17th thing wasn’t posted up? Would it make things better or worse?
And why do you guys look at these kinds of doom and gloom sites that make you angry or afraid? Maybe that’s what the media is doing to get our attension, and that’s what the media is supposed to do, we’re so easily sucked in from the horror of what’s going on these days on this planet “violence, war, killing, etc”, that it is creating chaos within ourselves and projecting it. People are over reacting about something that’s not mean’t to be bad. ie (The 2012 Mayan Prophecy) and especially this one (October 17th, 2006)
Yes we do over the course of our lifetime, we experience something bad, and that’s how life is for all of us.

In order for something good to happen on this Earth we must think postive (peace and prosperity) and be blissful (unconditional love). It’s a signal from a higher dimension to change our awareness for humanity.

I find this discussion very interesting. First, why does something that you don’t understand and don’t have an answer to have to be a cult? If you are looking for something that is “cult” you will definitely find it. Just as has been posited, your reality is based on your thoughts, your perceptions.
I am not a guru, nor am I a naive follower. I am a human being willing to put my energy into the thought of living on a planet where love is how we live. I didn’t create this 1017 mission, but here are my thoughts on your questions:
1. What is the goal of these missions? Basically, what do you hope to ultimately accomplish? World peace, love, kindness, gratitude, etc., as stated in the article.
2. Explain how travelling to outer space ties into this goal? Did anyone say anything about “travelling to outer space?” I didn’t read this, please tell me where you found this reference.
3. What do you need to do in order to accomplish these goals?
Concentrate and focus my thoughts on positive outcomes.
4. Support all three of the above questions with the information that has lead you to believe they are true.
I read the article, took what I wanted from it and listened to my heart.
Perhaps, if you allowed yourself to step through your fear, you might actually be able to discern something useful from this and make an informed choice. You read something, don’t get the answers you want and, looking through your “cult lense” pass judgment and spew your vehemence over others. Perhaps if you allowed your heart to hear instead of your fear and anger you might actually receive the answers you seek, for yourself and your friend.
Also, though you may not like what has happened to your brother, it was his choice to give up his money. Is it possible that this might actually be the best thing that has ever happened to him? Might he now have to do some soul-searching? Might it be possible that he will grow from this? Is it truly a horrible thing to have no money? For positive people, you all seem to have alot of passive aggressive attitude when you are trying to tell me it is because I fear something that I believe this is a cult, or that I am “spewing” my words. As for my brother, yeah he has grown, and yes it was his choice. The problem was he was taken advantage of at a rough time in his life. He was promised things that anyone not in his situation (drug use) would have been able to see through. The people who ripped him and others off promised him WORLD PEACE and a LOVING ENVIRONMENT at first, and once that never happened they needed his financial support to spread the word. You see how similar this is yet?? I am not saying this is the exact same thing, but if it acts like a duck, sounds like a duck, and looks like a duck, it is probably a duck..

I’ve been reading with amusement the comments being bantered backward & forward. I am truly sorry that your brother had such a hard time. My brother too is about to pass over due to chronic drug & alcohol addiction. I’m surprised that nobody (unless I missed it) has mentioned the movie What the Bleep do We know & Down the Rabbit Hole. There are many prominent scientists who are doing just this sort of work and it really is mind blowing. They are extremely intelligent, highly qualified & sought after people. Their scientific knowledge and experiments are there for all to see. All scientists know and have finally admitted that that you can change an outcome in an experiment simply by observing it. Geologists are also very aware that when they are drilling into tectonic plates in the earth, they have a much higher risk of causing an earthquake or sunami if they do so when the moon is in a certain position as it affects the earths gravity. This is not secret science it is there for all to see & read if you make it your business to look. If you do watch what the bleep take particular notice of the experiment that was conducted to reduce the crime rate in Washington DC by 25%. just by having a certain number of people mediatate. Good luck with whatever mindset you decide upon but please don’t make a decision until you’ve made a real effort to investigate the evidence. Yesterday was October 17th, or Mission 1017 as you folks like to call it. How did that mission go? Why is no one answering the questions I am asking still? I am looking for the information and no one is providing anything of relevance.
I can sit here and say very important psychologists around the world know that growing up with a pet will make you a more gentle and comforting person, so therefore this is a cult. It doesn’t really make sense does it?

You people seem to be living in a dream world. You nievely agreed with some movie, or some cult leader who spent alot of their time and effort to fool you. You did exactly what they wanted to an extreme level.
Did you believe every single word Micheal Moore said in Fahrenheit 911? I am a big Micheal Moore fan, but you can see he is an extremist who is teetering on the lines of truth and fiction, and sometimes he crosses those lines. He plays with people’s emotions to get them to believe what he wants them to believe. It takes a very smart individual to pull it off on the level he has, but unlike cults, his message wasn’t to trick you, it was to get you to think about those things more often.

People have answered your questions. (I gave up reading most of your last post - rehashing previously stated crap). Go inform yourself elsewhere on the role that energy has in this reality. Go beyond your out dated newtonian view point. Educate yourself on quantum mechanics as has already been put to you. Go out and find information on Chi, Ki, prana, bioenergy. These are found in healing traditions from around the world.
Asking questions is good. The quality of your life is determined to a great degree to the quality of your questions.
You need to ask new questions. Expand your mind.

The bottom line is that I have seen this type of information in many forms over the years. Do I believe it is true….Let me put it this way. You would have to be highly unware if you didn’t think that something was going on. Until certain things come to light there is alot of speculation.

What you seem to be missing is that this stuff is just theories. Not facts, but theories concocted by putting multiple things together like Chi, Ki, prana, bioenergy, etc…
Like Trekkies who have watched every episode in order to compile a new language, you folks have compiled all of these other “in practice” theories to make your own theory which is even more ridiculous.

1d. What lead you to believe that the 1017 will create world peace with your help? Show me the scientific proof that made you believe 10/17 was any different than any other day for the cosmic alignment or whatever it is.
1e. Why didn’t the 10/17 mission work? Infact, with raised tensions between the US and N.Korea yesterday, why did it do completely the opposite of what was planned?

It is a shame that the use of univerals concepts and strategies is being screwed with like this.
Things like chi, engergy work etc. is hardly theories in ivory towers. When you make comments like “this stuff is just theories not facts” I wonder…do you really understand what you are talking about? Quality research has been done on engery, the human body and its impact on reality for a very long time - all over the world from acient china to modern Russia. Just because you have no understanding of this stuff does not demote it to the trash heap of “possible theories” and other nice fluff.
The truth is that we live in a sea of energy. And just like the mind-body connection, do you really think that energy is a one way street? We recieve energy from the universe constantly and we send it back out - constantly. The quality of our thoughts directly controls the quality of the energy sent out - and through manifestation the reality we percieve.
Is this mission true? I don’t know. I do know that alot of truthful information about the nature of our reality has been used here - and as a result some people will just become more jaded. Sad.
The best way to kill a concept is to pop culture it to death. Perhaps this is the mission of this site.
The notion of improving yourself, expanding your mind and the possibilities you have as a human is a noble one.

I am not denying the energy being real, however it is not proven. There is no scientific data backing up these energy therapy and treatment. It is just a theory, one that is still trying to be fully understood.
Do you think that if energy therapy and treatment were completely proven that it would be more commonly used in the real medical world? What I mean by the real medical world is the hospitals that aren’t holistic style centers.
You really cannot grasp the difference between fact and theory, and that is where you are getting your mind warped on these issues. Let me try to explain this to you:
FACT: Paris is in France.
THEORY: Paris is the dirtiest city in the world.
You see, one is proven. The other is just an opinion based on various facts and beliefs. An example of a fact used to make that theory could be “it has the most dogs per capita in the world, and no laws about picking up the crap”. That may be true, but it doesn’t mean Paris is the dirtiest city in the world. you get what I am saying?
You are giving me answers that do not explain how this cosmic alignment and energy being produced simultaneously will actually create world peace. I want to know why people believe this specifically. My questions weren’t the toughest questions in the world, they were very simply written so that it would be easier to understand.

You obviously don’t understand what you are talking about Engery healing ie. Accupunture, Reiki, etc. are very well researched and established - you would have to go beyond the USA to see any of the high quality research. Just because you have no understanding does not shelve this to the fluff pile. Real medical world? I guess that you don’t know that FACT that hospitals and medical doctors are the second leading cause of death in the USA? That you are more at risk statistically in a hospital in the US than going overseas to the various wars.

As far as this cosmic alignment engergy thing goes….well look. THought is engergy. And energy expands if it is acted upon by an outside force. So if more people are producing peaceful engergy it will have an effect (see quantum mechanics - do your own research). Further, it has been well documented that different planitary allignments have an effect on human behavior. SO put the two together and you have the possiblity of this type of change. Do not get me wrong…I am waiting to see more proof.
But sly you really do have a chip on your shoulder. You can call me names and act like a…. but it still doesn’t prove your point and certainly doesn’t disprove what I have said.

You ARE running away. Once someone disagree’s with people like yourself, running away is always the first option. Use whatever excuse you want, but I have been doing this for many years and know when someone feels “whipped” in a debate. It is clear that you do.
Call it a shallow debate, I call it proof that you are having trouble supporting yourself and your beliefs and are getting flustered that someone is calling you out on it very simply. Don’t worry, people tend to get upset when something they believe so strongly in is being disproven as easily as this. It is humbling no doubt, but as an adult you need to learn from this. Although I am sure you will never admit to it, you are definately on a path of more open minded thinking because you have seen the other side of this debate now.
As for doing my own research, I have. That is quite evident below as well as above. What I am trying to do is make you do the same research I have that is clear you are not doing. You are talking about Reiki, Accupuncture, etc… Those are all things I believe might work. There is no debate there but you keep trying to make it look like I am denying those things, I AM NOT.
I am talking about the “cosmic alignment energy thing” (energy only has one “g”). In your own words, energy expands if acted upon by an outside force. FACT: Energy can change form, or diffuse when acted on by an outside force.
So technically, it may spread in a larger area, but it loses concentration. Which technically would prove what you said WRONG.
You also said if more people are producing peaceful energy it will have an effect. First of all, energy is energy, there is no difference between peaceful energy and negative energy in terms of science. In religion or new world healing they use BELIEVE in it, but it doesn’t mean it is real in terms of science.
Along with that, what is acting upon this energy in the “cosmic alignment energy thing”? There needs to be a force to act upon this energy in order to make it react. This is grade 2 science. So once again this proves what you are saying WRONG.
You also said “see quantum mechanics - do your own research”. This is the single most valid arguement you could have said if you were in my place, I thank you for pointing it out. Read the definition of Quantum Mechanics.. Actually, it is quite clear you aren’t doing your own research so I will help you out on this one:
Quantum Mechanics: a theory of the mechanics of atoms, molecules, and other physical systems that are subject to the uncertainty principle. Abbreviation: QM.
Notice the first word in the definition: THEORY!!!!!!!

If we are going to go and analyze each other, I will start by showing you where you are wrong again.
You ASSUME I have a chip on my shoulder because I am debating this. Well my above few arguements have shown that I am actually argueing with fact and supporting what I say. So in turn your assumption makes you look like the one with a chip on your shoulder.

You ASSUME I don’t know about hospitals and research around the world. Being a canadian I know we have a better health care system than the US does. I travel around the world visiting hospitals and seeing new technologies so that the company I work for can build the most advanced hospitals in the world. I recently just got back from Italy, France, Germany, England, Holland, Austria and will be going to China, Japan, Thailand, India, and Saudi Arabia over the next year.
Now for my non-educated analysis of you.
I think you are a bit of a nut. You are definately a positive person to the public, but in your head you are very negative and have those type of thoughts. You feel bad for those thoughts and try to make up for it by living your life in a false pretense of being positive.
You believe what you are saying strongly because no one has cared enough to challenge you on it like I am right now. Now that I am opening your eyes and shattering the world you have been submersed in for years, you are having trouble dealing with it. Like a drug, this world you have believed is now taken away from you in certain aspects, and your mind is fighting it the same way an addicts body fights the withdrawal.
It is OK, many people around the world talk to people like myself every day to solve their lifes problems, or at least make them known so that they can start the healing process on their own.
